Next Thursday, September 5, the Baltimore Ravens will take on the Kansas City Chiefs. This match will be telecast live on the NBC channel. The day after that, on September 6, the Packers and Eagles will face off in Brazil, a matchup that can be seen exclusively on the Peacock streaming service.
More streaming services, more matches
To watch all the NFL games this year, you’ll need to rely on more streaming services than any other year. Because the matches are now being shown on various channels and streaming services. Let’s take a look at which channels or services will be showing which matches this season:

CBS: Will air Sunday afternoon games, Thanksgiving Day matchups, and select playoff games. These games can also be streamed live on Paramount Plus.

Netflix: Two Christmas Day matches.
NFL Plus: Matches on NFL Network.
In addition, YouTube and YouTube TV have NFL Sunday Ticket, which allows you to watch any out-of-market match. And there is the popular channel Redzone where you can watch the best moments of all Sunday afternoon matches.

How to watch NFL matches?
With so many channels and streaming services, watching all the matches can be quite a hassle. So let’s see what options you have to watch all the matches.
Cable TV
Earlier cable TV was the easiest way to watch all the matches. But that was not the cheapest way. If you still have cable TV, you can watch the match on CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN, and ABC channels.
Live TV streaming service
If you’ve cut the cord with traditional cable TV, live TV streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, DirectTV Stream, Sling TV, and Fubo can be a great alternative to staying up to date with your favorite shows and channels. These services include ESPN, ABC, NBC, and Fox channels. All except Sling TV also have CBS channels. Also, NFL Network is available with the Basic plan on all but DirectTV Streams. To get the NFL Network on DirectTV, you have to buy a slightly more expensive plan like Choice, Ultimate, or Premier.
New Streaming Service: Venu Sports
Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Venu Sports, a new streaming service created by Discovery, may soon start showing matches broadcast on ESPN, ABC, and Fox. But it won’t have CBS or NBC. Whether it will be shown on NFL Network or Redzone is also unclear. However, as Fubo won a court injunction against the service, its launch plans are on hold for now.

Local network problems
One thing to keep in mind when it comes to matches televised on CBS and Fox. Not all streaming services show all local networks. So, first check which streaming service offers ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox channels in your area.
Other streaming options
In addition to Prime Video, there are four other streaming services that NFL fans should consider after just making the cut.
Paramount Plus: Both its Essential and Showtime (formerly known as Premium) versions show CBS matches on Sundays.
Peacock: Both its Premium and Plus versions show NBC’s Sunday Night Football coverage, as well as Week 1’s exclusive match in Brazil.
ESPN Plus: Will stream some Monday Night Football matches broadcast on ESPN and/or ABC, as well as Week 7 and Week 18 matches. However, not all of the Monday night matches that Disney will broadcast will be available on ESPN Plus.
Netflix: Christmas Day in Week 17 (Wednesday this year) will feature two games on Netflix: Chiefs vs. Steelers, and Ravens vs. Texans.
RedZone is a special channel that brings together the best moments of all Sunday afternoon matches. Whenever a touchdown is scored in each game, the red zone moves to that game. Redzone is available as an add-on on all major live TV streaming services.
NFL Plus and NFL Network
The NFL’s own streaming service, NFL Plus, recently made some changes and raised prices. Now for $7 a month (or $50 a year), you can stream any local or national match, but only on your phone or tablet. Additionally, NFL Plus grants you access to exclusive ESPN Plus and PEAK games, however, viewing is limited to your phone or tablet.
NFL Network is now included with NFL Plus. You can watch this channel and its eight exclusive matches on your mobile device, computer, game console, or TV with NFL Plus.
NFL Network is also available on some plans of the five major streaming services.
Those who want to watch RedZone can opt for the NFL Plus premium plan, which costs $15 a month (or $100 a year). Some discounts may reduce the annual price of NFL Plus by 20%, but the league says the offer is “for a limited time.” Like the NFL Network, NFL Plus Premium will allow users to stream RedZone on TVs and computers in addition to phones and tablets.
Which service is best?
Best for everything: YouTube TV
YouTube TV has been our favorite service for the past few years. Get almost all NFL channels here for $73 a month. You’ll find everything you need on CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network. Its streaming is also pretty fast, and 4K can easily be streamed while watching on TV (an additional $20 monthly).
Second best: Hulu Plus Live TV
Just like YouTube TV, you can get all the channels here, for $77 per month. However, from October the price will be increased to 83 dollars.
For Redzone fans:
Redzone can be added as an add-on to both YouTube TV and Hulu Plus Live TV. The Sports Plus add-on on YouTube TV is $11 a month, and the Sports Add-on on Hulu is $10 a month.
YouTube TV vs Hulu Plus Live TV:
Both services have apps for almost all devices and streaming platforms. Three people can watch simultaneously on YouTube TV, and two on Hulu. However, YouTube TV offers a more budget-friendly option with the added benefit of unlimited DVR storage.

Other Live TV Streaming Services:
DirectTV Stream: All the major channels for watching NFL matches are also here, but prices start at $80 (after various fees are added). The NFL Network is not included in the basic package. To get Redzone, you have to buy the sports pack separately, which costs $15 per month.
Fubo: Fubo costs $92 per month after RSN fee. This fee is not required to watch the NFL but still has to be paid. Fubo’s base plan costs $80. However, if there is one RSN in your area, you will have to pay an additional $12, and if there are two or more RSNs, you will have to pay an additional $15. If you want to get Redzone, you have to pay an extra $11. And if you want to get 4K broadcasts, you have to take the $90 Elite plan.
Sling TV: Its Orange and Blue plans cost $55 or $60 a month. It includes ESPN and NFL Network. Fox and/or ABC and NBC are also available in some major cities. But don’t get CBS. To get Redzone, you have to pay an additional $15 through the Sports Extra add-on.
Sling is offering an offer for new users, where they can pay $219 upfront for four months of Orange and Blue plans. It will cost about $55 per month.
Netflix is a new addition to watching the NFL. Two matches will be shown on Netflix this year on Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25).
Sunday ticket
Sunday Ticket is a special service of the NFL that allows you to watch any out-of-market game. Meaning, you can watch matches in your area that aren’t being shown on CBS or Fox with a Sunday ticket. Until now it was only available on DirectTV, but now it is also available on YouTube TV.
Some important tips
  • Check which channels are available on any streaming service in your area first.
  • Check out each service’s streaming quality, DVR features, how many people can watch at once, etc.
  • Choose the right service according to your budget and needs.
Conclusion
While there are many options for watching the new NFL season, choosing the right service is never easy. However, we hope, the information provided in this article will help you make the right decision. Enjoy the new NFL season!
