Ayub-Masud’s aggressive start
At the end of the third day, Pakistan was in a precarious situation with the loss of two wickets. However, at the beginning of the fourth day, Saim Ayub and Shan Masood started batting aggressively. Both of them hit boundaries with ease to bring Pakistan back into the match.
Great catch by Shantar
But a brilliant catch by Nazmul Hussain Shant halted this initial control by Pakistan. Snapped a shot of Shanta Ayub standing on the cover. After that, Nahid Rana took three wickets and put Pakistan under pressure.
Nahid’s three wickets
Pakistan captain Masood was out first. Chasing a ball outside the off stump, he is caught by Liton Das. Then came the turn of Father Azam. His poor form in Tests continued from the start of 2023. He got out after scoring only 11 runs. Shadman Islam takes his catch at slip.
Then Rizwan could have been out on the first ball. He was surprised by a bouncer on the runner and the ball hit the edge of his bat and went to slip. But this time Islam missed the catch. But Nahid Rana did not stop. He kept throwing balls into the fire one after another. A bouncer hit Rizwan in the helmet, prompting him to be checked for a concussion. In the same over, Nahid Rana forced the left-handed batsman Saud Shakeel to be caught by Lytton from around the wicket.
Rizwan’s fight
Rizwan, starting at 81/6, skillfully prevented any additional dismissals until the lunch interval. He and Salman Agha batted the last nine overs of the session to take Pakistan’s lead to 129 runs.
Summary Score:
Pakistan 274 and 117/6 (Mohammed Rizwan 38*; Nahid Rana 3-22)
Bangladesh 262 (Liton Das 138, Mehdi Hasan Miraj 78; Khurram Shahzad 6-90, Salman Agha 2-13)
