Google Pixel 9 Series Launch: Biggest Announcement of the Week

Google Pixel 9 Series Launch: Biggest Announcement of the Week

The biggest event in the tech world this week is the arrival of the Google Pixel 9 series. Google has introduced two new flagship phones, a near-flagship phone and a new foldable phone. All these phones are now up for pre-order.
Additional storage is available for free with the phone in Germany
Additional storage is available for free if you buy these phones in Germany. This usually means getting the 256GB model for the price of the 128GB model. But for phones that have more storage options, the 512GB model will be available for the price of the 256GB model. (Storage on the new Fold starts at 256GB, so only the 512GB option is available now).
Let’s take a look at the Google Pixel 9 first
Both Google and Amazon are offering a 150 euro bonus on older devices. Since the trade-in value of old phones is very low, this bonus will come in handy. A Pixel 8 in good condition costs just 186 euros, with a bonus of 336 euros. The price of the iPhone 15 with bonuses is 510 euros, the price of the Galaxy S23 is 325 euros, which is even less than the Pixel. For older devices, such as the Pixel 7 or Galaxy S22, the trade-in bonus may be higher than the actual trade-in price.

Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL
Both Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL phones have a slightly higher trade-in bonus, at 200 euros. Also, a free Gemini Advanced subscription is available for one year (normally 22 euros per month).
Color and storage options are limited. To illustrate, if you fancy the Rose Quartz Pixel 9 Pro XL, you’re limited to 256GB of storage. The standard Pro, available in both Porcelain and Rose Quartz, also offers up to 256GB, but if you need more space, there are 512GB models in Hazel or Obsidian. For the ultimate storage capacity, the Obsidian Pro XL even boasts a 1TB variant. Google may come up with more color/storage combos later, but keep in mind that the free storage upgrade offer lasts until September 5.

Another benefit

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
A trade-in bonus of 300 euros is available on the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and a free upgrade on the 512GB model. The price of the original Pixel Fold (including bonuses) is 632 euros, the price of the Galaxy Z Fold4 (including bonuses) is 512 euros. As mentioned earlier, the trade-in deal is largely dependent on the bonus because the price of the old phone is very low. A free Gemini Advanced subscription for one year is also available.

Google’s new 45 watt charger
Google has launched their new 45W charger, which will be required to get the maximum charging speed with the Pixel 9 Pro – which was not possible with the old 35W charger. However, if you have a USB-PD charger that you’re happy with, don’t buy it.

The new Google Pixel Watch 3
Google’s latest smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3, offers two distinct size options: a compact 41mm and a larger 45mm model. The Watch 2 was only available in 41mm. The 45mm option gets a larger 1.4-inch display (versus 1.2-inch) and a larger 420mAh battery. The Wi-Fi version is linked below, but the LTE version is also available for €100 more.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2
Finally, Google has unveiled their new Pixel Buds Pro 2. This is the first time their custom tensor chip has been used in TWS buds. It promises a huge improvement in noise cancellation (2x in the 400Hz-2kHz range). And ANC automatically adapts to your environment. The Buds have no stem (cough at Samsung) and promise long battery life (8 hours for the Buds with ANC on, up to 30 hours with the case).

Conclusion
The launch of Google’s new Pixel series has been quite interesting, especially in Germany where benefits such as extra storage and trade-in bonuses are available. But the price may seem a bit high. If you are thinking of buying a new phone, then definitely check out these offers.
Special Note: Offers and prices are subject to change, so be sure to double check before purchasing.
